Monster Nitrous Energy- Anti Gravity
Monster Nitrous Energy

I've seen a lot of debate about the new Monster Nitrous Energy, many are confused on what's said on the side of the can. It goes, "Call us crazy, but we combined Nitrous Oxide with Carbon Dioxide in a precise ratio".
Now what this really means is the process this Monster Energy Drink goes through should be very similar to that of a Guiness. The process gives the beverage it's creamy appearance and Monster Nitro seems to have a lower carbonation level.
I've tried one other of these drinks and thought the green can was quite dry and not very tasty. On the contrary the Anti-Gravity product was extremely tasty.
It tasted similar to Mountain Dew with a very pleasant viscosity. The can's sleek 12 oz design with the cap can is a masterpiece in itself, and I was happy with the drinks taste.
The kick from Monster Nitrous may seem like much to a rookie, but to a seasoned veteran like myself, I feel it was a bit lackluster. I definitely noticed the familiar "energy" feeling going on but it struck me as average.
Bottom Line- No matter what clever words they use to try to get they're attention there is no "NOS" going into this beverage. It's a smart gimmick in a sick can with a tasty, functional beverage. I rather enjoyed Monster Anti Gravity and rated it an 8.0 out of 10

The Wave Energy Drink- Sugar Free
Wave Energy Drink - Sugar Free
Cost- $2.00 for 16oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, AND B5
Calories-20
Flavor- Fruit Punch
Rating: 6.0 out of 10
Earlier I had reviewed the original Wave Energy Drink product and was more then satisfied with that particular product. Now as I move into a more gray area, (Sugar Free beverages) I was skeptical to say the least about how the sugar free Wave was going to taste.
I've never been a fan of sugar free anything and my dentist can attest to that. I've had more dental work done then Nelly...
That's besides the point, I gave Wave sugar free a shot and was thoroughly disappointed at the result. The gap between the two drinks couldn't have been further apart. It had such a terrible aftertaste it was impossible to finish the can. A lingering medicinal taste was the worst part.
Wave Energy Drink Sugar Free comes with lower caffeine levels and lower calories but without those two things the kick and taste go with it. I had set a low bar and Wave Sugar Free was no where close to my expectations.
Bottom Line- If your looking for low calories I believe there are many other choices out there you might want to try. If you don't mind the sugar go ahead and grab their orignal can and you will be much more satisfied. I rated Wave Sugar Free 6.0 out of 10.

Spark Energy Drink by Advocare
Spark Energy Drink by Advocare
Cost- $MLM - Shot's and Packets,
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin A, C, E, B6, B12,
Calories-45
Flavor- Mandarin Orange
Rating: 6.0 out of 10
Advocare has launched Spark Energy Drink with two new products to the energy market, an energy packet and energy shot. I decided to put the energy powder under the microscope first. I grabbed a standard water bottle and dumped the entire packet into the bottle, shaking it for about 1 minute.
It's easiest in a water bottle because you can shake to your heart's content to make sure nothing sits in the bottom. First problem with the taste is that you can still feel the tiny grains as you begin consuming the supplement.
Tasting the powder from these concoctions has always been a pet peeve of mine so I find myself continually shaking the bottle. Spark Energy drink's actual TASTE wasn't too bad. It wasn't an overpowering orange and contained only the slightest hint of a medicinal taste.
This packet comes packed with nutrients and has 120mgs of caffeine that should've provided a boost for hours. Unfortunately while I did feel a kick, it lasted only 30-35 minutes. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most people are looking for a little more.
Another obvious drawback is that you can't purchase this in stores. Advocare is a multi level marketing company that doesn't feature in-store product. How they got Drew Brees to sponsor this product (besides the obvious) I will never know.
Bottom Line- A convenient little packet that provides less kick then a 6 year old girl playing soccer with average taste at BEST, leaves Spark Energy Drink with a poor 6 out of 10 rating.

Wave Energy Drink
Wave Energy Drink
Cost- $2.00 for 16oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, AND B5 (PHEW!)
Calories-300
Flavor- Hawaiian or Fruit Punchish
Rating: 9.0 out of 10
This week's Featured Product is from a relatively new company in Columbia, South Carolina. Their product, Wave Energy Drink, comes in regular and sugar free, both of which will be reviewed separately.
First off the label of the 16 oz can is simple and clean, compare it to the opposite like Ed Hardy and you'll see what I mean. But I like the can and it gets the point across.
The dietary supplement is crimson (RED) in color which they pitch as "Sophistication". This doesn't matter to me, taste is what matters. It tasted like a boosted Hawaiian Punch or sugary Kool Aid..Immediately I felt this was a well formulated beverage.
Fruit punch has always been pleasant to the taste buds, and I did not notice any medicinal burn (which is common in energy drinks) or aftertaste. They don't mention the caffeine count except as "Low Caffeine" and Wave Energy Drink packs a wopping 70
grams of sugar! That's like 2 ounces of sugar! Too many of these and my dentist would be working overtime.
Buzz wise, the extra vitamin b's they add plus all that sugar provides the foundation of a pretty good kick. I had this on the drive up to work and it easily substituted for my missed coffee. The best part was I didn't notice any crash once I was at the office. It didn't work
any miracles but I was satisfied. I ended up disappointed I only had two of these and they've yet to start selling them around L.A. Not too often a good energy drink comes around and leaves me begging for more. Must be the sugar??
Wave Energy Drink may not be focused on mixing with alcohol like some other companies are (Roaring Lion), but this tasted great with rum and vodka. It's very strong flavored so the alcohol doesn't come out overpowering. (2 oz shots in a red cup) I'm just saying..
Bottom Line- Wave Energy Drink was such a great tasting energy drink. It was low in carbonation which made it easier to drink. The kick was effective and the energy drink lacked any negative effects besides future cavities. But here @ Energy Drink Reviews I
rate based on Taste, Kick & Mixability, Hence why I rated Wave Energy Drink a 9.0 out 10. Give this one a try.

High Roller Energy Drink
High Roller Energy
Cost- $2.50-$3.00 AUD for 250ml
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Vitamin B's
Calories-???
Flavor- RBC
Rating: 8.8 out of 10
If you thought other countries were behind in the energy game, you couldn't be further from the truth. Down under in Australia the guys at High Roller Energy might be on to something big with their NEW energy drink.
This energy drink tastes very similar to many other generic energy drinks with a traditional energy drink taste much like Red Bull. The best thing here is that there is no medicinal taste or preservative burn here.
It was very easy to consume and in my opinion, the 250ml can is a great choice with just the right amount of juice. It's on par for what you would expect for an energy drink.
With so much energy packed into this tiny can (760kj to be exact) its a good alternative to coffee for an early morning pick me up. Subsequently there is no crash at the tail end of it's energy boost. No jitters and nothing was overpowering but a moderate "lift" was noticeable.
High Roller Energy drink comes in a slim 250ml can with a red background and images of graffiti like dice surrounding the can. The dice can be annoying when trying to make out some of the writing on the can. I'd say this is my ONLY complaint.
Bottom Line- High Roller Energy drink would provide a great boost before you venture into the Outback or before running onto the rugby field. I gave them an 8.8 out of 10 for a well done energy drink.
It might not be anything too exciting but it's a well made product. Unfortunately if your looking for this in the states your gonna find slim pickings. High Roller Energy is created in Malaysia and distributed only in Australia.
Look for it if your in the country or go to their website @ www.highrollerenergy.com

Roaring Lion Energy- KEB's Review
Roaring Lion Energy
Cost- $1.99 for 12 Fl Oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Glucose, Vitamin B
Calories-119
Flavor- RBC
Rating: 8.4 out of 10
Since the beginning of time (by time I mean, the emergence of the energy drink) I have been a die hard Red Bull fan. Oh I have a softball game? Red Bull. Getting a drink at the bar? Red Bull Vodka. Any time I needed an energy boost I would turn to Red Bull. I wasn't sure anyone or anything could steer me away from my kickstand.
Roaring Lion has launched campaign after campaign to clip the wings off Red Bull. The fine people at Roaring Lion went so far as to send me a sample of both Roaring Lion and Red Bull. I figured this was a sign of extreme confidence that they would be able to change my mind...
The 12 oz sleek can is simple, classy, and blue. It boldly suggests you can fly twice as high as Red Bull. The beverage is lighter in color and has a more sour taste then Red Bull though it's a very similar product. You might say the taste was a bit lighter and not as overpowering as Red Bull can be.
It was refreshing but a bit puckering with a hint of lemon. I rather enjoyed the taste and it tasted great with vodka as well. Roaring Lion also mixed rather smoothly with the Jager and vodka. Big marks for those qualities.
The buzz was around the norm for a 12 oz energy drink. Nothing overpowering much like you'd expect from a Red Bull or Monster. I'd say a moderate lift that didn't result in jitters or headaches. Roaring Lion might not be a 5 Hour Energy, but it works like a cup of coffee.
Bottom Line- Roaring Lion offers a product that contains slightly more ingredients (niacin, vitamins b6-12) and a little more juice for a great price. The taste's differ slightly with the edge going to Red Bull, but lets face it I'm a tough sell. This is a good product that has good qualities for a good price.

Crunk!!! Energy Drink Citrus
Crunk!!! Citrus Energy Drink
Cost- $2.79 for 16 Fl Oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Ashwaganda, Skull Cap, Amino Acids, Vitamin B, Vitamin C
Calories-240
Flavor- Citrus
Rating: 5.4 out of 10
Crunk!!! Energy has ANOTHER flavor; Crunk Citrus. Usually I am a fan of citrus (as are a lot of Americans), but if this was the industry standard I'm not sure it'd be such a large, popular category...
I've read various other reviews (Click to see ScreaminEnergy.com's review)of the Crunk products and I just don't see how they have given the beverage such high reviews. This drink is bad as are most of the other sku's with exception to the Acai Berry.
Usually the energy kicks are lackluster and the flavor choices, while unique, are not pleasant. There is a reason why the same flavors are used over and over again in various products, because thats what people like!
When I drink a citrus flavored drink I'm looking for it to be sweet, tart, AND refreshing. Keyword being "REFRESHING". I want that thirst quenching feel that hits the spot and makes me want to knock back the entire beverage.
Crunk Citrus tasted tart and even though it was ice cold when I tried the energy drink there was something that was "off". Some people call this an "oomph" but I'd like to call it a dud. It has a very crude aftertaste and it was not friendly to my taste buds. It tasted very medicinal and I might attribute my sore throat I felt afterwards to Crunk!!!
I also think the energy kick failed me as it was hardly noticeable. It lasted under an hour without much elation. To Crunk's credit there were no jitters or crash, though I'd say it failed to live up to expectations. This is puzzling to me since it has the same ingredients as the original Crunk energy drink.
Bottom Line- The taste is just bad, if you can't finish half of the drink your not going to be getting much buzz. Crunk!!! Citrus was probably my least favorite of the entire Crunk!!! Energy Drink line. Steer clear folks.

F.I.T.T. Energy Shot
F.I.T.T. Energy Shot
Cost- $2.30 for 2 Fl Oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Resveratrol, Amino Acids, Chromium, Green Tea, Vitamin B, Vitamin C
Calories-20
Flavor- Pomegranate Orange
Rating: 7.4 out of 10
FITT Energy Shot comes in a standard 2 fl oz shot bottle that is shrink sleeved with an average looking label, and boasts the same quick energy with no crash that every other energy shot does. They don't stop there though, F.I.T.T. (what it stands for I have no idea) is setting themselves apart by adding Resveratrol to their proprietary blend.
Resveratrol is derived from the skin of red grapes, (also peanuts) and is found in many red wines, most noticeably those from Spain. It's rumored to help extend life and to have anti-cancer qualities, although none of this has yet to be proven (In humans). Even if it DID do any of these things the amount you would have to consume daily would exceed 3 grams. And according to Wikipedia this has only been proven to lower blood sugar. To put this in perspective FITT energy has only milligrams of the supplement derived from a Polygonum cuspidatum root extract.
If you need a better source that might be more reputable then WIKI you can find Oregon State University's take on Resveratrol.
Let me wipe my forehead and get on with the product. The initial taste is strong and medicinal due to the use of preservatives, and I'd recommend drinking it cold. The after taste is probably more pleasant then initial taste. After a couple of sips it was much easier to drink and I started recognizing the pomegranate orange flavor.
This shot is instantly effective as it contains as much caffeine as a small cup of coffee. I felt immediately uplifted on the long drive from the OC to the Valley and was very gratified. There was no noticeable crash and I was very happy with its effects.
Bottom Line- I rated F.I.T.T. Energy shot a 7.4 out of 10 because of its terrific kick and average taste. Keep in mind ANY energy shot is going to be extremely concentrated and could take some getting used to. Bottom line, this 2 fl oz shot gets the job done.

CRUNK!!! Energy Drink
Crunk!!! Energy Drink
Cost- $2.79 for 16 Fl Oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Skull Cap, Ashwaganda, Vitamin B, Vitamin C
Calories-240
Flavor- Pomegranate
Rating: 5 out of 10
Crunk's original energy drink decided to go a unique route compared to most energy companies, using pomegranate as it's flagship flavor. If your watching your figure they also have a sugar free version
First sip Crunk is very tart and the pomegranate overpowers any medicinal after taste. A small problem here is that pomegranate is not a flavor I fancy. It's a cross between watered down Gatorade and old apple juice. It's not refreshing and it's very hard for me to finish a 16 fl oz can. Maybe if they converted to a resealable can I would be more satisfied.
With its extensive ingredient make up I expected an extraordinary kick to go along with its brand names' definition. The dose of Ashwaganda and Horny goat weed is probably not gonna be enough to be very effective, but the 200 mgs of caffeine is a different story. This much caffeine will get any couch potato off their ass and on the assembly line or even better, back in school.
Bottom Line- Crunk!!! Original is an average energy drink which I gave a 5 out of 10. You got to understand Crunk misses my palet completely with their flavor choices. If you like pomegranate this may be right up your alley. It's a competitively priced product and stands out with its IN YOUR FACE CRUNK!!! graphic. It probably would also mix well with certain alcohol, though I didn't test this theory out. At least this drink will get you crunked up if consumed in full. And NO I will not make a LIL Jon quote to cap it off.

Crunk!!! Energy Drink- Grape Acai
Crunk!!! Energy Drink
Cost- $2.79 for 16 Fl Oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Skull Cap, White Willow, Ashwaganda, Vitamin B, Vitamin C
Calories-240
Flavor- Grape Acai
Rating: 7 out of 10
Crunk Energy is a well marketed product that has been promoted heavily by the Artist/Producer Lil Jon. Crunk has multiple flavors which I will review separately but I wanted to start with the one I found most enjoyable and easiest to consume.
Acai berry and grape has not historically been a flavor I've found delectable. With the first sip I wasn't thrown back in my chair or spitting anything out so I took this as a positive step to expanding my pallet. It was true to the Acai berry flavor, crisp, and lacked the dreaded medicinal aftertaste. Although I couldn't see myself drinking a full 16 ounces in one sitting, it wasn't half bad in small doses.
Crunk Grape-Acai has a nice blend of amino acids, Vitamins B and C, and almost 200 mgs of caffeine which provide a sufficient boost to mood and energy. There was a noticeable sustained kick that didn't leave me crashing out. As for the Ashwaganda and Horny Goat weed there was no way to tell if these two ingredients carried any effect.
Bottom Line- Crunk!!! Grape-Acai is an above average energy drink for the acai category. Keep in mind Acai is not my cup of tea but Crunk!!! may have eased me into the category. It's a decently priced product and stands out with its blinged CRUNK!!! graphic. It probably would also mix well with certain alcohol, though I didn't test this theory out. The positive here has to be the energy boost as Crunk!!! gets the job done and does it without artificial flavors and colors.
If you like Acai berry or Grape I'd recommend picking one of these off the shelves.

CRUNK!!! Energy Stix
Crunk!!! Energy Stix
Cost- $2.89 for Two 3 Gram Packets
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Skull Cap, White Willow, Ashwaganda, Vitamin B
Calories-10
Flavor- Orange
Rating: 6.5 out of 10
I've touched briefly on the subject of convenient energy pouches before with Nuvo-E, and wasn't exact thrilled with the result. Well CRUNK!!! Energy has expanded to include Crunk!!! Energy Stix, an energy alternate that doesn't need to be mixed with water and is similar to a Pixie Stick.
It has a decent intial taste but it takes more then one swig to finish off one packet... By the time you come around to round 2 it is very bland and harsh to the taste buds.
The energy kick is not to be underestimated as this packet gets the job done. Crunk Energy Stix was one of the fastest acting energy boosts I've EVER had. To verify this statement my co-worker who tried it with me felt the same effect after about 5 minutes.
I had sustainable energy that lasted over an hour from that tiny little packet. Once I washed the taste out of my mouth I was pleased with the result.
Bottom Line- I rated Crunk!!! Energy Stix a 6.5 out of 10 because it has a TERRIFIC kick and energy rating. The taste was regrettable and could use some work to bring in repeat customers. Another positive is the overall convenience of a small packet that will simply fit anywhere a normal energy drink wouldn't. I'm not sure if this would be my first choice though.

Amp Energy- Kyle's Review
Amp Energy
Cost- $2.99 for 16 fl oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B's, Guarana,
Calories-120
Flavor- Mountain Dew
Rating: 8.5 out of 10
Amp is Pepsi's answer to the mainstream energy market and was launched a few years ago based on the Mountain Dew soda. Mountain Dew was a product in which I liked the taste, but rumors and urban legends have effectively steered me the opposite direction.
Amp offers many different energy options but when I first try a product I go with the original. I found the flavor was extremely similar to Mountain Dew with a slight aftertaste but uniquely different (and better) then Red Bull or Rockstar. There is no preservative burn or medicinal taste, and I found it was easy to consume large gulps at a time.
Amp Energy contains 60 grams of sugar, therefore it's very sweet to the tongue but death to teeth. Two ounces of sugar is also a good way to expand the waistline in all the wrong ways. That being said there is no way this would be a daily addition to my diet despite its great taste.
I tried Amp Energy around 11:30 p.m. hoping it would motivate me to hit the weights, instead I was bouncing off the walls for 15 minutes from the 140 mgs of caffeine. After that 15 minutes I found myself laying in bed playing Modern Warfare 2 'til 03:00. If you happen to be a late night gamer then Amp Energy should be right up your alley.
Bottom Line- The taste was good, the kick was above average, and the price is about par with the competition. This isn't going to be for a health nut or really anyone who is over 40 and wants to live past 50. If your underage then suck a couple these down and you'll be pumped to game all day long, if your over 21 mix it with your favorite alcohol (vodka) and party all night long.

Rockstar Energy Gum
Rockstar Energy Gum
Cost- $1.59 for 10 GIANT PIECES!!!
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B, Inositol,
Calories-10
Flavor- Iced Mint
Rating: 7 out of 10
Rockstar Energy Gum has just been released and I was hoping this alternative to energy drinks was going to be a tad bit better then the energy chews I've tried before.
It tasted similar to a Dentyne Ice but being a former cigarette smoker this gum had multiple similarities to Nicorette. The initial taste was not bad but shortly after it was wayyy too much to handle, the large piece tingled a little bit in my mouth and was pretty much unbearable after 10 minutes. . A very bland mint taste that was not very pleasant.
Luckily it doesn't take more then 10 minutes to release the caffeine into your system, and Rockstar Energy Gum is quite effective in pumped upness. The fact that the gum is virtually sugar free is also a plus. If you need a quick pick me up this is not the worst option available to you. I was noticeably energetic for an hour plus! Not bad for one small piece of gum!
Bottom Line- Rockstar Energy Gum is a efficient way to get your energy boost but not the choice of gum you'd use to hit on the ladies. If you have to cram for a test or just feel like staying up late but don't like energy drinks this could be for you. The chews are nasty and this is not the worst thing in the world. Perhaps you should try it out...they have many flavors available.
Rockstar Energy Gum of course can be found nationwide at any local convenience store.

Rockstar Energy Cola
Rockstar Energy Cola
Cost- $2.59 16 fl oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B, Inositol, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract
Calories-260
Flavor- Cola
Rating: 5 out of 10
Energy drinks and cola are probably my two favorite things to drink. Though both are also instrumental in my multiple cavities and root canals, I still continue to ignore this fact. When my girlfriend brought Rockstar Energy Cola home I was very intrigued and impressed...with the can.
This can is unique utilizing a rare look with black matte wrapping its circumference and capping it off with a black gloss lid that makes it look very sleek. It stands alone in its appearance and shock value, this WILL grab your attention.
Unfortunately for $2.73 in this economy I'm gonna need a little more then a sexy can to drool over to get my money. At first sip its not half bad, medium carbonation, tasted along the lines of RC (A flavor that has not won me over). Then the after taste kicks in, and I'm sure this is the "energy" part which was nasty and only gets worse as the drink gets warmer. If your determined to finish something you invested in I recommend throwing some ice cubes in a glass because this is dirt nasty if it goes lukewarm.
Since I suffered through the after taste I was begging for a good energy kick. I was teased a little bit by the caffeine when I picked up some weights and felt proactive for a whopping 30 minutes. Piss poor kick and it did nothing but remind me why I stopped drinking Rockstar in the first place.
Bottom Line- I've heard Red Bull Cola is horrible as well so I'm gonna take it as a fact mixing energy formula's with cola's is a bad idea. I gave Rockstar Energy Cola a 5 out 10 for the sole reason of the can's graphics. I want to make sure that guy or gal keeps his job.
Rockstar Energy Cola of course can be found nationwide at any local convenience store.

Bite Me Energy
Bite Me Energy
Cost- $1.99 16 fl oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B, Inositol, Niacin
Calories-100
Flavor- Original
Rating: 8 out of 10
Bite Me Energy combines a catchy name, bold look, and 160 mgs of caffeine to grab your attention and jump start your morning. Upon trying this beverage its easy to recognize a distinct energy taste much like Red Bull. I'm very fond of this flavor so no complaints here.
It was a very easy drink to consume. I was also very satisfied by the kick I felt. I started picking up the weights no more then 10 minutes after consumption. I was thinking to myself now THIS is what energy drinks is supposed to be about.
Lately I've been so disappointed by the lack of energy in the beverages that this one surprised me. To be honest I could noticeably feel a kick for about 2 hours before it fizzled out. Most times lately I've set my bar lower and was happy to actually feel motivated by the end of the can. I was ecstatic I finished the 16 oz can in one sitting.
Bottom Line- Even though it might be considered just another Red Bull clone, this puppy wipes the floor with Red Bull and its lackadaisical buzz. If a kick in the pants is what you need to jump start your morning consider picking up a Bite Me.
Bite Me Energy is sold regionally in California, you can find it in your local 7-11.

Vegas Fuel Energy
Vegas Fuel Energy Drink
Cost- $1.49 8.4 fl oz
Active Ingredients- Caffeine, Taurine, Vitamin B, Inositol, Ginseng, Guarana Extract
Calories-110
Flavor- Fruit Punch??
Rating: 8 out of 10
Who didn't see this one coming? The city that never sleeps (besides NYC) has an energy drink to represent it across the country.
Vegas Fuel had a very good flavor to it. They didn't take the Red Bull clone approach and instead created a very tasteful tropical-fruit punch. It taste along the lines of Hawaiian Punch with moderate carbonation. There was also no medicinal aftertaste. I didn't taste it with booze but it has very mixable qualities. I mean lets face it, Vegas and a energy drink not capable of mixing wouldn't be proper Vegas Fuel.
The kick was uplifting but nothing compared to an energy shot. I experienced no jitters but felt enough punch to keep me going during my late night poker sessions at the Venetian. I was pleased with my behavior and attitude after consuming Vegas Fuel and would say it lasted close to 2 hours. After that I really couldn't tell but no worries, if I wanted a boost to last longer then 2 hours I'll buy a energy shot.
Bottom Line- Considering the price, flavor, kick, and appeal of the brand/can appearance, I rated Vegas Fuel 8 out of 10. Want a reminder of your last great Las Vegas trip? Pop open some Vegas Fuel.
