Hansen’s energy original

Contains: Taurine, Panax Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, Caffeine, Guarana, Maltodextrin, B6, B12, B2.
This is not one of my favorite Energy drinks. This rating really isn’t due to the taste. Hansen’s Energy has a nice lemon lime kinda taste, the main problem remains that it doesn’t really provide energy. They advertise having many ingredients that other drinks have, but in reality they must not contain that much. This drink doesn’t pump you up as much as red bull, it doesn’t have the keep awake power that redbull has. It does have a little energy packed into this symbolic tiny can, but it just can’t compare with the jolt that some other drinks cause. I will have to admit that this drink still covers the flavor of alcohol fairly well. It might not be capable of the 50/50 mixes other energy drinks can provide but it doesn’t fall to short when it comes to mixing. The price is something that does beat most competition, but since it doesn’t pack the punch that it should, saving 50 cents really doesn’t make it a worthwhile savings factor. If you want to save on energy drinks buy them in cases, don’t buy crappier ones, a single at a time. I would say you can probably do about 35% vodka with out a significant alcohol flavor.

Hansen's Energy Original is my favorite Energy Drink due to it's great citrus, smooth taste and boost of energy I get from it. I'm bummed CostCo isn't carrying it any more.

Um I dont sell anything I just review energy drinks. Sorry but i know you can get cases of Hansens so look around.
Posted by: Dan at March 19, 2004 06:45 PMI'm not sure if you've ever heard of it, but there's this Japanese drink called "Oronamin C" which definitely smokes any energy drink i've ever had (at least in terms of taste). You should check out a Japanese covenient store in your city. It comes in these tiny brown glass bottles, and the drink literally releases vapor when you open it. If you think Red Bull is good, you gotta get your hands on this drink. In general, Japan has the best soft, engery drinks i've ever drank myself. This says a lot since i've lived in several different countries so far.

Hey Dan, stumbled across your reviews and found them very interesting. Have you ever tried Hair of the Dog. I haven't tried as many energy drinks as you but found Hair of the Dog to be by far my favorite. It contains Taurine, Caffeine, Inositol, Schizandra, L-Glutamine, Milk thistle extract, Ginseng extract, Guarana berry extract, B3, B5, B6, B12, as well as 1000 mg Vitamin C and others. It has a light raspberry taste to it and is light blue in color. I really prefer the taste and effects over any other energy/detoxifier i have ever tried. Just thought maybe you'd like to give it a shot. Hope you enjoy.....Jen
Dan, You have quite the review site! I'm an electrician and do some fairly strenuous work. After inhaling lunch, I oft times need a pick-me-up in the afternoon. I also run about 3.5 miles after I get home. I prefer to stay away from caffine, but don't know if that's going to be possible with these energy drinks. What do you suggest? Of course I'd like good taste, but I need the effect more than anything. Just bought and drank a can of Monster Energy. We'll see how I feel in a few minutes. It didn't score very high in the taste department-I'd rate it a 5 or 6 on a 10 point scale. Any suggestions you have would be helpful. You write great reviews, but I just can't warrant the time to sift through all of them. Thanks! Gregg

(which I don't get from other drinks) I don't drink a lot of caffeinated beverages and perhaps that is why this drink works so well for me. Sometimes it actually works too well if I drink it after 3 pm, I have trouble falling asleep at night.

Red Bull taste like drinking rancid perfume and does not work for me nearly as well as what Hansen's does for me. And, like Debbie, I don't drink a lot of coffee or other caffeinated drinks. Perhaps you have to be a coffee hater to drink it ('cause I am)?
