Amp energy is a pretty decent drink that stands out amongst the many
imitators out there. Since this drink is based off of the Mountain Dew
brand, the drink tastes like Mountain Dew, but with much more of a bite to
it. Fans of Mountain Dew will adore the taste, which is pretty good in my
opinion. This stuff provides a great source of energy for an 8.4 ounce
drink. I was kept alert and energetic for a good long time after drinking
this. Overall, I would say that this is a good energy drink for those who
are looking for a good alternative to all the other 8.4 ounces out there. I
would highly recommend it to fans of Mountain Dew as well.

A lot of people like AMP. So this might mean I am really the minority on this one. I just don't like any tea, never have in my life. I guess that sucks because tea is really good for you. Anyways Amp while mixing decent and pumping you up well just doesn't make my list of a drink I like to have often. Why so you ask, well the green tea flavor. I can taste the tea above all of the other flavors in the drink and it just ruins it for me. It really makes it hard for me to finish a can. So that is what the low rating is for, but if you like tea of any sort seriously, pick up a can of Mountain Dew's AMP and give it a taste. It does pump you up really well, way better than say a regular mountain dew.

Once I drank this before a swim team try-out and I went really fast. It tastes a lot better than Red Bull. It might not give better energy than Red Bull does, but it sure does taste better. I am also a big Mountain Dew drinker, and I agree that if you like Mountain Dew you will love this. It's cheaper than Red Bull and tastes better, so this is my overall favorite energy drink. My only complaint is that it doesn't comem in four-packs like Red Bull does. I have only tried about five energy drinks so far, and this was by far the best. I would recommend this toanyone who wants to catch a real buzz.

At no point in between drinking it and napping, or after napping for that matter, did I have any kind of energy boost at all, although I felt much better after my nap :)

Anyway, we happened to be in a safeway, and they had on of those heart rate thingers. Anyhoo, almost an hour and a half after having one, my resting heart rate was 112. Damn. Anyway, this stuff rocks in my opinion, go pick up a can. Or five.

Dat was 5 uuren geleden en ik voel ik nog. Voor prijs, vond ik beetje hoog maar dat is normaal van de MT DEW fabriek. Tussen RED BULL en AMP, je mag wat bestemming je wilt nemen. Het is slechts paar cents meer dan RED BULL. De smaak een beetje te zoet is als je hebt 12 gewoon MT DEW's gehad op een keer. Voor mensen dat vind MT DEW "THE BOMB", volgens mij zullen ze die ook lekker vinden.

I am now in a serious state of supplementing and i have been experimenting with different energy drinks to start my workouts. I like the taste of amp but for some reason dont get the same great kick of full throttle. i also have been reading everyones feedback and in my opinion i come to the conclusion that everyones body reacts differently to different products- very interesting!

A) It isn't the most powerful
and
B) The can is too small.
Since I can pound a four pack of these in well under an hour, it's just not worth it for me to buy these on a regular basis. Once they come out with a 16oz can or cut the price I will then buy this more often as I do REALLY enjoy it.

Shortly after... they decide to make mega amps. Wow... amp doesnt really do much to me.. dont know why but it takes about 5 or 6 to really get me a lil bit hyper. Mega amps are really good tho and now I drink them alot.Our coaches want to ban amp because of how bad we drink them. I have once been called amp by a friend. Its an addiction and I will never stop. When I used to work at McDonalds, I would grab 3 before I started my overnight shifts at 9:00, and drink them in the first 2 hours, and I would be set for the night. They wore off right as my shift ended, so I would go home and crash right away. Good stuff

Oh and about amp, I think that the extra kick the energy boosters and vitamins give it, make it as good as it could get. I love the new generation of energy drinks... They're all so damn tasty! (Except for Monster eughewk.)

Here in Nashville the dealers could hardly keep the old design cans in the coolers. But this new crap will be there till Hell freezes over!!! Yes, I'm pissed!!! I know that the 8 ounce can has a lot of energy, but the 16 ounce can is WAYYY better.
It kept me awake for 10 hours straight.
When I discoverd this at the local gas station, drawn by the large size can, 1.4 pint BIG RIG, bigger than usual ones, just had to check it out.
OMG. Rush city. Short while after, fatigue. Got extremly tired around 7pm my time, started drinking it around 6ish. I'm here in Texas, the armpit of the world.
Guess with the can size in mind, in Texas, everything is bigger. ;)
This stuff roxs.This was my frist ebgery drink i ever had and i drink the whole can during lunch and i was off the wall i started running around and laughing at everything and kept falling (more then i normaillly do atlest,wich is alot) and I started shaking and could not walk stright. Then i fall asleep during Sianice Class :)

The 210mg of caffeine woke me up for a good 2 hours. The drink does not have all the b vitamens or other stuff, so this is a straight caffeine buzz.
It tasted like monster, but better. I did not get sick of the taste even after I got to the end.
I would like to see more 24oz cans of enegry drinks.

Posted by: al at August 13, 2007 03:22 PMUmmm...weirdos? Amp is pretty good. It's the best out of all the energy drinks I've had (like 5). But I felt kinda light headed and got a headache afterwards? I'm only 12, so that might be the reason, but none of the other energy drinks I've had do that. Did it happen to anyone else?

my top 2: amp (red) and monster (green). red bull tastes disgusting, i dont care how much energy it has. recently ive been taking concerta (add med- "speed", like adderall or ritalin) once a day with 2 amps. it completely works for me. not only do i feel energized from the drinks, but the med makes me focused, able to concentrate, and alert. however since it makes me lose my appetite, the amp is on an empty stomach so its a bigger hit to me.
about energy drinks mixed with alcohol: depending on the amount of each, you can feel sober, but really be Very impaired. the energy drink eliminates some immediate drawbacks with the drink (like headaches) and therefore you consume more alcohol. it also creates and bigger problem with dehydration. if youre going to drink alcohol, dont mix with an energy drink cos its not worth it. i had a red bull with a mixed rum drink and there was no improvement over the drink w/o the RB.
the only problem i have with them is they can get expensive after awhile. 2 amps a day at 2/3$ each? cigarettes are cheaper than that.
but if you got the money and need the boost then knock yourself out and sucker into the energy drink craze.
oh snap, just drank a 16oz can of dis, mang i'm halucinatin right now. gotta go lay down
