Energy Drink Problems increased with alcohol
Well for awhile there has been various worries about energy drinks. I decided to collect a bunch of articles about the topic. There are some health risks associated with energy drinks. It seems that if your drinking more than two cans, drinking no water, or drinking energy drinks every day they could cause problems, especially when mixing with alcohol. I drink energy drinks and alcohol often, but I never have more than two cans of any energy drinks a day anymore. Taurine is illegal in Canada and being researched all over Europe to see how safe it is. Here is some more information from around the net:
UPDATE: Taurine is not illegal in Canada, although it may have been in the past it is fine now.
Ephedra banned this has been linked to a few peoples deaths and some old energy drinks contained it. None in the US contain Ephedra anymore.
There are quite a few people researching the effects of alcohol mixed with energy drinks. Some of the studies don't believe this is a problem that don't believe it has any benefit or keeping you awake better. In effect they claim it wont increase your buzz. Other studies talk about the problems with combining a strong stimulant with a depressant like alcohol which could increase the risk of heart problems and also increase the risk of dehydration. Some have been going the legal route and attacking redbull for how it makes people act or its claims to improve performance.

Now most resource make note that more research must be done on energy drinks before any real conclusions can be made. I would say just be smart and safe make sure to stay hydrated and don't use energy drinks as a daily way to wake up and be alert. With that said I am looking forward to going out and trying a new energy drink later.
