Budweiser B^E

B^E
Cost: $1.50 10 oz
Active ingredients: Ginseng, Guarana, Caffeine
Rating: 6 out of 10

Most people that have tried this told me that they thought it was disgusting. Now they were all beer drinkers. I am not really a fan of beer. I never have been, and probably never will be. (give me some hard stuff or wine). Anyways, I was coming from a different view not looking for a normal beer taste. It doesn't taste like normal beer it is sweeter with almost a little bit of berry taste to it. To me this was a good thing cause i think most beer is far to bitter. So i like the taste better than beer, but can see how this is something creepy to a beer drinker. So if you like beer and don't like sweeter beers like pear beer and whatnot i wouldn't give this a shot. If you like some sweeter beers and energy drinks give this shot. It does pump you up a bit, not a ton not as much as other energy drinks but it does provide a lift. The reason i give it a low rating is, if your looking for alcohol and energy you get better of both just mixing your favorite energy drink with a hard alcohol. A better tasting energy drink that provides more energy and more alcohol than a tiny beer. Anyways, interesting attempt, but just fails to be above average in anything it is attempting to do, which makes me think that like crystal Pepsi, this will disappear fast. So grab your collector's cans now, B to the E is going to evaporate.

Comments

Let's see.....
1) Expensive (as far as beer goes)
2) Not as strong as liquor and energy drink
3) Not as good as liquor and energy drink
4) Not as much energy as liquor and energy drink
5) Beer drinkers aren't going to appreciate a 10 oz can

I agree--this isn't going to make it.

Posted by: Ron at December 7, 2004 01:17 PM

question... where have you been able to find this new "beer"? I haven't been able to track it down anywhere in new jersey. lemme know!

Posted by: Tom at January 10, 2005 02:43 PM

I am out in the chicago area and can get it. It just came out here but unless you wanna get it for kicks I wouldn't suggest it. I just got some and it really isn't worth it. It has a 1/2 taste of bud and 1/2 of like a redbull. An odd combo but I'd rather stick to a beer or Sparks (better alcoholic energy drink)

Posted by: at January 24, 2005 11:19 PM

Tastes like they poured accidently spilt a little redbull in a glass of beer and decided to sell it

Posted by: sarah at January 25, 2005 07:03 PM

I think that stuff is absolutely amazing. It's much better than red bull for the sole reason that it is made by budweiser. I suppose after more advertising it will prevail over girl drinks as long as the men don't have to pay for them because they are kind of expensive. Also, if you drink too many you'll probably die.

Posted by: Chuck D at January 26, 2005 02:20 PM

Sick and disgusting...don't try it!

Posted by: Jay at January 27, 2005 06:11 PM

Just tried it this weekend at Purdue, I LIKE IT! Hopefully be around 1.30 each for a case, 6.6% alch.

Posted by: Josh at January 30, 2005 05:33 PM

Great stuff.... You cant look at it like its gonna taste like original Bud with the normal barley n hops taste.... this is a hybrid beer

Posted by: Jason at February 1, 2005 05:28 AM

tried this stuff in New Orleans. LOVED IT. But if you go in expecting it to taste like beer, you'll be dissapointed. And yeah it has a berry flavor because there is berry juice in it. Def. helped with all the late nights in the big easy. Hope it is offically released soon, and yeah a drop in proce would be nice, but I'll still probably buy it.

Posted by: robin at February 2, 2005 08:58 AM

I just had it, in the Madison area. I like it a lot, though I wouldn't suggest you rely on it soley to get drunk. After my first two I was doing "alright", but then the feeling wore off. It tastes good, bought 8 of them for under $10. Yes, a little expensive, but good.

My suggestion, get a 12 pack of Bud (your prefered type) and a four pack of B^E. It will keep you awake.

Posted by: Dave at February 3, 2005 10:28 PM

considering that i slammed the only one i had, i rather enjoyed it. it's easy to drink and i think it tastes great. i just hope it gets me f***ed up enough to have a good time.

Posted by: john pearce at February 7, 2005 01:06 PM

BOSTON area, tried it and enjoyed it. It's very hard to find but I highly recommend it.

Posted by: torrey b at February 11, 2005 09:18 AM

hey - guarana is in this drink. i use it to make my own energy drink, mix w/crushed ice, soy or normal milk, and peanuts. must try it! i get mine at www.grasshuttreasures.com

cheers!

Posted by: erica at February 12, 2005 06:12 PM

If you like red bull, rooster booster, or donkey kick, and beer, then i recommend you try this new beer out... cuz its fuckin grrrrrreat!!!!!

Posted by: chrissxy at February 13, 2005 08:01 PM

Tried it here in CO, Liked it. Drank one alone and it gave me a small buzz/burst of energy for about half hour. Was good after a few beers also.

Posted by: John at February 18, 2005 01:26 PM

Notice the alcohol content is not printed on the can and it is impossible to get any information on alcohol content. I believe there is little to no alcohol content at all. Just another overpriced energy drink.

I wish i knew about it before i just drank a bud and a red bull at the same time, didn't think about mixing them together ... but i'm still tired and now drinking coffee with a bud , maybe they can make a b to the e and c ?

i'll try it, whatever keeps me awake , getting old sucks ! mixing redbull with vodka works but hard to pick yourself up off the floor after a few of those or shut up and then there's the skirt over your head issue ... well that may be TMI .. it's the coffee, redbull and beer must have worked !

Haven't seen it anywhere in Flausa yet .. anyone ?

Posted by: fla at March 18, 2005 08:17 PM

What is Sparks ? that's anohter new one on me, i never heard of b e until just now, not even on a commercial which is odd... what else am I missing ? What is Sparks ??

Posted by: fla at March 18, 2005 08:20 PM

I kind of like B.E. it has its place...here in Texas we get it in 12 oz cans but 4 packs.I am and have been a serious beer drinker for over 25 years...by serious I meen almost every day.I love beer and brew also it ..I tried a simular brew import from The netherlands {I think} about a year ago so I was game to try E. but I cant remember what it was called...starts with a K.
E tastes better imho though..Flavourd beers are far from new..look at Youngs..one of my favorite "treat"beers...esp the double chocolat malt...mmm...mmmm..both bitter and strong.

MMMMMM...Beer...peace

I live in New Mexico and want to know where i can find this drink just to try it. Question..do you have to be 21 to buy it???

Posted by: KC at April 12, 2005 12:18 PM

I'm a chick, and I love it! I dont like red bull, cuz i think it's too too sweet, and I hate domestic beer. So when i'm dead tired and forced to go out, this is a fantastic drink to get me back in party mode. You get the buzz of drinking, with out the alcohol hang over! yaaay!

I saw budweiser E in NYC in a Rite Aid store, never seen it before and it seemed like a high price for a budweiser product, In a ten ounce can.

Sparks is by far my favorite energy drink.
Red Bull/ Absolute Vodka come in second.

Posted by: Cole at April 25, 2005 01:54 PM

like energy drinks. like alcohol. found three online:

b-e: www.budextra.com
sparks: www.drinksparks.com
liquid charge: www.liquidcharge.com

b-e: tastes like beer with chick's lotion in it. not enough alc (4.5%) not big enough. red bull is from europe, what's your excuse Bud?

Posted by: Guy at April 27, 2005 09:05 PM

I like alot, its not for the die hard beer drinker. It more of a mixed drink, I like to call it the pantie dropper. You should like it for one fact, it gets chics drunk fast, and unlike mixed drinks and hard liquor, you will be fuckin them instead of holding their head when their are throwing up.

Posted by: Brad Underwood at May 2, 2005 10:03 PM

we love the drink.needs more alcohol content and wrapped in 12 oz 6'ers.lower price!if you can't do that at least don't stop sellin it.we really do love it. and big bud! #1 AB all the way! sincerly, YOUR BUDDYS

Posted by: brian and suzy at May 11, 2005 08:55 AM

Posted by: shawn at May 11, 2005 06:32 PM

I dont like beer, but this stuff is awesome. It has a slight beer taste to it. I hope this stuff is around forever...I really like it.

Posted by: brian at May 13, 2005 12:11 AM

Thought I'd post a comment that was slightly more informative than "It sux" and "I loved it!". I've seen the posters for this drink at my local liquor store and been tempted to pick some up. Today I bought a 4-pack of B^E 10 oz. bottles for $5.99 + tax (Chicago far northern 'burbs outside Cook county) and wasn't expecting the moon and stars. Just looking for something different than the usual Icehouse 30-pack for $10.99, which I bought as well. I decided to save the B^E until I had already got a bit of a buzz on from the Icehouse. Prior to consuming, I went to the Bud website and chegged out the "serving suggestions". Then after grabbing my favorite beer mug and depositing 5 or 6 ice cubes, I cracked open the first bottle. A distinctive berry aroma came from the bottle as I poured about half of it into the mug. It was fizzy, not frothy like regular beer, and created a 2 inch head that mostly dissipated before I took the first taste. Since I was not expecting it to taste at all like beer, I was pleasantly surprised. It's much more like a malt beverage such as Zima - about a 6/7 of 10 in sweetness and not at all syrupy. I lingered with the first bottle and then charged full ahead into the next two over the span of 1/2 hour. I was planning on drinking the 4th straight from the bottle, but as I turned the cap it almost fell off the bottle like it hadn't been fully tight. I poured a bit of it into the mug and it wasn't very carbonated, so I poured it all down the drain not willing to risk drinking it spoiled or tampered. So, how does it taste? Pretty decent. Don't expect it to taste like beer and don't expect it to give you a huge boost like you just snorted up a fat rail of blow. I will most likely buy some again, but not on a regular basis. Hell, one 4-pack of B^E costs as much as 15 cans of my best friend Icehouse. For clarification, the bottles are printed with "6.6% ALC. VOL.". Which is slightly more than Zima at 5.9%. Icehouse tags their cans with 5.5%. ;) Anyway, give it try if you're curious.

Ok, so I tried Liquid Charge this weekend. The first can i had was... ok. It is a totally new taste. But then i had one the next night, friday. And holy shit, i think it is stronger than redbull. I was going nutz all night long. I am now addicted! I freaking love it! And not to mention it gave me a hell of a buzz come my second can :)

I tried B 2 the E and I thought it was great. I am not a big fan of energey drinks but this one tops out as #1. I love it. I am looking for it in my city but man is it hard to find. I would like to know if they have this drink in New York City because I can not find this anywhere. this drink is great and I dont see why people dont like it. Its about time a beer company made a new kind of beer. thankyou Budweiser.

Posted by: Double R at May 16, 2005 02:33 PM

The new Bud E is OMG the shiz. My first time drinking it was in Down Town Detroit and i couldn't get enough of it. I'm not a big beer drinker usually but i tried it and loved it right away. You can taste the beer still, just with a hint of something fruity :). I wouldn't recommend it to big beer drinkers though because its in like a 10 oz can and it will take like 20 to get really shit faced!. Yeah Baby

If you like to drink beer but feel like you get sleepy before the party gets going, there is an answer. B^e is a new favorite for me. I love it! This isn't a Budweiser ad, I really don't ever drink Bud. My Beer is Miller. But this new beer by Bud is an expensive way of enhancing your partying. Fuck there coporate world for trying to create a new window of revenew, but it is good. I guess thats how new products get made and I am happy this one is going down my throat right now.

Tried B 2 the E this weekend and thought it was great. It did give me a buzz and it did give me the extra "zing" I needed. I would compare it to having a strong cup of coffee. It wouldn't be something I would drink all night, but it would make a great start to a long night. If you are into to trying new things, you will enjoy this drink.
BTW, in Texas they sell the 12oz can in a 4 pack. Found at the local grocery store.

I like B E and Sparks together with a 12 pack of whatever I decided to drink. For all of U who don't know about sparks-it is the best of the energy drinks with alc-6% by the way! Plus Sparks smells like orange crush-u can drink it at work undetected-woot! B E with Sparks and regular beer-seems to get ya drunk but u feel like u ate a viagra-tried that concept last night a fuked for 4 hrs-so drink them all-get ur buzz with beer then drink a sparks first-then a B E-then drink more beer and 2 more sparks-then finish with a B E and that = fuck for hrs!!!! Try it and call me a liar-i'll bet money it works-peace

Posted by: mike at July 7, 2005 03:03 AM

I really enjoyed this beer for three reasons. The first is my biggest problem with beer is the carbonation. Drinking more than one just leaves me burping and that's not attractive on a girl. B^e has less of it and make it easier for me to have more than one. The second is the alcohol content. Bud's other beer have around 5.0% while B^e has 6.6%. And last but not least since alcohol is a downer which makes a lot of people tired the caffine and ginseng help keep me energized. All in all I love this new beer. I even enjoy the fruity flavor...very interesting. Although I must agree with other people I don't thinkit will be around too long. Some people won't like the flavor, while I thing others will stay away because of the ginseng and guarna. For those of us who like it we should try to give it some good recognition, in hopes that the good people of Budweiser will think of us a keep it around. Thanks for reading my rant. =)

Posted by: Nic at July 10, 2005 08:07 PM

Do any of you know how much mg's of caffeine, Ginseng, and Gaurana is in this stuff? I'm drinking some right now and I can't say I like it or don't like it but, wtf? No one wonders how much caffeine is in this? I'm curious. I stick to my Redline and vodka.

I love B to the E!!!! I used to live in NJ and all the liquor store owners used to say that it was discontinued and this was over a year ago. Somehow I would find it 'cuz that's what I used to drink when I'd go out...It rocks. I don't like beer, and I don't always want to drink hard alcohol, but I do love knowing that I can get a buzz after a couple and I will be awake to enjoy it. Now I 've moved and they don't sell it here. I've had to move onto Sparks but it isn't as good tasting and it is a huge can which I don't like.

Still buying Bud Extra at WalMart in the 4-pack 16oz cans for $3.99. When it first came out it was expensive but now at $3.99 a 4-pack with 16oz cans, I drink it every day. I don't know what I'd do if they every discontinued this stuff. I'm a HUGE Sparks fan but let's face it, you can't sit around drinking 7% Sparks Plus all day or you'll look like a crackhead. Here in Oklahoma we have the 3.2% beers so 3.2% Bud Extra makes a great any time of the day treat. I drink it at work almost every day(I own the place :D )
