Emergen-C Cranberry Fizzing Drink Mix

Emergen-C Cranberry
Cost: $? 6 oz
Active ingredients:B1, B2, B3, B6,B12
Rating: 4.5 out of 10

OK to be fair the low rating is mostly because this just isn't an energy drink. Someone wanted me to review it so here it is. I don't really like cranberry I have said this before and I meet the taste once again. If i am just looking for a vitamin, I normally just go for an adult chewable that tastes as much like a Flintstones vitamin as I can find. Now if you want to just drink your vitamins this is what this drink it. I guess it is mostly sold for those that believe lots of vitamin C can help you to fight off a cold or not get sick in the first place, which there is still debate about but little research to back it up. This drink has 1000% of the normal dose of vitamin C, which may help you. As it is it can't hurt you there has been some benefits shown from vitamin C and any extra that your body gets you just pee out. So for a quick way to get your vitamins before or after a run or a job this isn't a bad way, it dissolves well, has a light taste, low carbs, and replenishes your lost salts. If your looking for an energy boost that the energy drinks and caffeine give you this drink isn't what your looking for. That is a good enough description and perfectly honest to the fact that this makes a GOOD SPORTS drink, but not a good energy drink.

Emergen-C isn't really an energy drink, but if you pour a Cranberry packet into a Red Bull, you will definitely feel an extra kick! And it doesn't taste too bad either!

Try the tangerine or Super Orange - WAAAY better!

Emergen-c is GREAT to help fight a hangover or other times when your electrolytes are heavily depleted (marathon running, etc).

One warning -- don't just drink too much of it casually or for no good reason. All that vitamin C will wreck your liver if you drink too much for too long.

The form of vitamin c in Emergen-C is calcium ascorbate, not just plain old ascorbic acid... it's created by chemically bonding the ascorbic acid to a calcium molecule, and as such the vitamin C can stay in your system and be absorbed, as needed, for up to about 24 hours! This stuff doesn't get "peed out" quite as easily as you've suggested. :)

Though, yeah, um - totally right, not an energy drink.

Doing some research online, I've been browsing your site. While I find many of your reviews interesting, I quit carbonated drinks totally a while ago. Out of all of them, for energy on long car trips I thought Rockstar was the best.

That being said, since you reviewed Emergen-C Cranberry, with it being a vitamin drink... there are others out there which are much more potent and balanced. Take a look at Eniva's product called VIBE, at http://www.liquidnutritionone.com/Leif/. It comes in both berry and apple flavors and since I started drinking it mixed in water (my 7 yr old drinks his in apple juice), I've quit drinking caffeine cold turkey, and still have plenty of energy all night long. (I work 3rd shift.)

In fact as far as drinks go, for me, 2 oz/day keep me going far better than 52 oz each night of Rooster Booster Lite (similiar to Red Bull) did. Plus with no stimulants, when I want to go to sleep, I can easily with no jitters. Among all the supplements I've tried, this is the most complete, and the only one that I've found which really is noticeable the first time you take it.

As far as mixing with alcohol... well, I haven't tried that. I mainly just drink beer anyways. In the last week and a half though, with taking VIBE daily, I've lost 6 pounds and haven't changed my exercise habits at all. Since I've had so much more energy though, as soon as my workload around here calms down a bit I plan to start working out regularly again. ;)

Try out the VIBE Dan... if you like, drop me your mailing info and I'll send you a couple free samples.

I agree that this isn't much of an energy drink like Monster or Red Bull, but I love it!

Hello,
I have been drinking Emergen-C and I was looking on this site and came across the VIBE. I went to their website, but I didn't find where you can purchase this drink and how much the drink cost. If anyone could send me an e-mail with this information, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I was introduced to Emergen-C by a co-worker who handed me a packet when I told him I felt like I was getting sick. I don't know if it was the placebo effect or the real thing, but I fought off the bug after that, and I occasionally use Emergen-C for that reason now. *shrug*

The research on Vit. C is in and has been in for decades beginning with Linus Pauling. It is an amazing antioxidant and helps keep the body alkaline (cancer can't live in an alkaline environment. So drink up. This stuff is great as a preventative to any illness or as a way to get over one quickly. Vit. C supplementation is a must for everyone.

Acai Berry may just be the best thing EVER! It gives me a boost in the morning. I almost feel like I cant function without it. Acai berry is for sure the best tasting one on the market!
