Enviga Peach Energy Drink
Enviga Peach Energy Drink
Cost: $? 12 oz
Active ingredients: Caffeine, Green Tea Extract
Rating: 6.5 out of 10
Enviga is the first drink from Nestea and Coca cola, which is after studies claiming to actually help you burn calories. This might not exactly be an energy drink but with 100mg of Caffeine, it definitely fits in with other energy drinks, which range from 80mg to 280mg of caffeine per serving. This is about the same as an average cup of coffee which contains 80-140 milligrams. So does this drink help you to burn calories as the can claims? "The cans per day of Enviga have been shown to increase calorie burning by 60-100 calories in a healthy normal weight 18-35 year olds." I don't know I guess you would have to drink three cans a day for a month or so, a challenge I might have to take on just to give this a real test. Well as an energy drink, it seems weaker than most, but has a fairly pleasant peach taste, with only 5 calories it has a pretty good flavor. I think the biggest problem is the slightly pungent aftertaste, it tastes a bit like sweat, others didn't notice this after taste, which can probably better be described by saying if you just clumped up all the little hairs on the outside of a peach and put those in your mouth you would have this bitter odd flavor, luckily the aftertaste doesn't last long and the peach green tea flavor is far more noticeable. I don't think this will hit well with the young kids running around and staying up all night, but if your looking for a afternoon burst of energy after lunch and you want a low calorie tasty drink, I guess it might be worth giving this drink a shot, especially if you already like tea.

Posted by Dan at November 19, 2006 03:54 PMI HATE that drink. I could not even drink the whole can, it was so nasty. I have tried the Berry flav and its alot better. As for energy, I did not notice anything.
Posted by: GaPeach at February 13, 2007 09:15 AMThe berry flavor is nasty. It's like Strawberry & Banana flavor Orange juice mixed with Red Bull. There's a strong taste of supplements and you get the feeling they put banana puree in it... Bananas have that specific texture that bothers the throat, and it's usually best not to have that in a drink!
Posted by: Simon at February 20, 2007 06:01 PMTHIS GREEN TEA ENERGY DRINK IS BY FAR THE NASTIEST TASTING SHIT ON THE PLANET!!! yuck, yuck. How the fuck could this even leave the packaging line...
Posted by: Full Throttle Trkr at March 1, 2007 01:20 AMSo my GF got me three cans of this stuff (all berry flavored) and I decided to give it a shot. Normally, I stick with my two favorite energy drinks, Coffee (I'm old fashioned that way) and Monster Lo-Carb (god's gift to the industry).
The Enviga product is an interesting one - it gives about as much caffeine as a cup of joe and tastes somewhat refreshing (burp - lots o bubbles).
I drank one on an empty stomach and got a little sick to my stomach, but ten minutes later felt a little more awake and the nausea had passed.
Don't drink this on an empty stomach!
All in all, not bad. The Green Tea flavor is too, well, Green tea-ish for my taste, but peach and berry are pretty decent.
This is not a full on energy blast like monster (or red bull, or rockstar, or blah blah blah), but it does the job of providing some energy while providing a refreshingly different flavor.
I agree with the 6.5 rating. I use this as a late afternoon pick me up instead of downing another Monster (which if taken too late, keep me up way too late).
I've written my own review of this drink. I think it taste really well and I do think that it could have some issues being sold as a weight loss drink because that is misleading.

Posted by: Lauren at April 27, 2007 11:24 AMThis is the first energy drink that I'm able to drink without having the jitters and then crash hard later. It provides the perfect amount of caffeine for me. After drinking the green tea I have noticed that my appetite was suppressed.
Posted by: ed at May 2, 2007 05:53 PMI love the Berry flavor but the Green Tea is pretty gross. And. I don't know whether it burns many (if any) calories, but with the little energy boost, it probably does pretty good as far as motivating me to burn the calories.
Posted by: Lily at May 10, 2007 05:13 AMI have tried the peach and the berry. The peach is a fizzy sweet taste, so I didn't care to much for that one. But the berry taste almost like a wine cooler. I tried one at work one day and yes they do give you extra energy. I got on the scale before I drank the peach and then I got back on the scale before I left work and I had dropped 2 1/2 pounds that day. I have a harder time on the weekends with my weight so I do drink one to help maintain my weight on the weekends.

is it in canada?
Maybe I'm alone, but I feel like I'm Enviga's biggest fan. I like the berry a lot, and I think the peach tastes like champagne. I love green tea anyway, so the green tea flavor tastes really good to me. I rarely drink coffee as the acid is rough on my whole digestive tract, and p.s. gives everyone bad breath. Diet pops are always hard to sell to me... they just rarely taste like I want them to, so the caffeine/energy boost Enviga offers is GREAT to me. I know they are being busted for calling it a weight-loss drink, but for me, it probably is, since otherwise I would probably be drinking sugary pop... It's more portable, quick and easy than boiling water and steeping the bags (which I do plenty anyway). I can't stop buying all three flavors of this stuff, and I'm looking to get it bulk for cheaper.
Posted by: Allison at November 6, 2007 05:22 PMI almost forgot to mention that this drink, as a contrast to many other energy drinks, does NOT contain taurine, which I always react really strangely to. Red Bull and others that contain it make me feel very strange, jittery, and emotional. People who know me describe me as super even-keeled and laid back, and I would go on a limb and say that taurine makes me feel strangely enraged when I consume it. I'm very careful to avoid it because I think it makes me act weird and feel out of control, so I was really excited to find an energy drink I like the taste of that doesn't contain taurine, OR gross high levels of sugar. The qualities of calorie-buring, antioxidant, and calcium-boost are all great benefits, too.
Posted by: Allison at November 6, 2007 05:32 PMYeah, i agree Allison. I tried this drink about a month ago, and I now have one about every day. It gives you the perfect amount of energy, plus, it has the health benefits of green tea. As for the taste, it's much better than any other energy drink that I've tasted. I used to have to struggle through a can of Red Bull, but now that I've had this drink....dare I say it...I actually enjoy drinking it! It's fizzy and sweet, and pretty much like Sprite with an extra kick. I love it!
