I know Rockstar I have owed you this review for a long time. This is really the zero carb no sugar energy drink king across many college campuses. This drink I have had quite a few times and started to like it a long time ago, I just kept forgetting to review it for some reason. Then I got a ton of emails asking me to review the zero carb as many people liked it better than the original Rockstar. Everyone said it gave you more energy and pumped you up even more. I have had more email about rockstar from readers than almost any other drink, I said this with my first Rockstar review and it continues to be true years later. Talking to friends across the country this seems to be the drink that almost everyone is moving to. It is easy to see why also, it taste very similar to Redbull although a little different, but it pumps you up as much if not more than Redbull an that is basically with just half a can. I mean this is twice the size for the same cost. It doesn't have a really bad fake sugar taste, it mixes well. If you don't like Redbull's flavor, your not likely to like this one either. It still has a bit of the medicine energy drink taste that bothers some people. I am starting to look for alternative flavors, because of the boredom I am getting having some many drinks that taste very similar, but that is where Rockstar juiced kicks in, which has brought some really tasty flavors to the energy drink world. So rock on Rockstar the current king of the energy drink world it appears. While Monster might have a slight lead over Rockstar I am not exactly sure why, perhaps it is because of the slightly adult url, perhaps it is marketing, who knows, but I do know that Rockstar has been one of the most creative and best energy drink companies out on the market for a long time and has a pretty huge following.

Posted by Dan at July 10, 2007 10:57 PMGood to know it has a similar taste to Redbull. I always saw the vans and ads and thought it was just a bunch of hype, but after reading this I might give it a shot. I could use a boost during my design work or even my workouts. Has anyone done reviews that compares how long these top drinks last vs. each other. Like a RockStar vs. Monster for how long you feel their effects? Thanks!
Posted by: Brett at July 18, 2007 10:20 AMI HATE regular Rockstars and stay clear of their juice flavors (I'm a Monster person all the way) but I do have to admit that this drink isn't half bad. Really nice berry flavor (I don't think it tastes at all like Red Bull), and it's barely carbonated or acidic so it doesnt burn going down. 50% more caffeine never hurt anybody either :) 5/5

Posted by: Haley at August 21, 2007 01:23 PMIt should be noted that the Zero Carb has a kind of...grapey, guava-y taste to it. Think of it as purple rockstar, you'll get it.
Oh, it's also got 150% of the caffeine ina regular Rockstar, so party up!
Posted by: Sam at August 23, 2007 09:29 PMI'm a competitive runner and I normally drink energy drinks before short races for energy. I usually drink Amp, but I got tired of the empty calories, so I tried this. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. It tastes like citrus airborne, which is nasty. I finished it because I thought I should at least see if it gives me more or less of a kick. Nothing. I felt nothing. Exhasted, if anything. Waste of two bucks. You're better off having the calories with Amp. Seriously.
Posted by: Lauren at August 26, 2007 05:18 PMThis drink fits the bill. Since I have low tolerance for refined sugars, its healthy too. It works each and every time. Rockstar is the perfect combination of elements.
Posted by: Dwight at October 17, 2007 03:43 AMThe BEST. Wish they had a caffeine-free version with more Ginseng!
Posted by: geoff at December 9, 2007 11:58 AMBrett, DO NOT drink energy drinks before your workouts. All of the caffeine will dry you out, you need to be hydrated when working out.
