Its almost the weekend, so we thought we may kick it off right and try Four. Four falls into the segment of the energy drink category that combines alcohol in the form of a malt beverage with energy ingredients.
When we opened the can, we caught an instant aroma of strawberry and raspberry. Once the beverage was poured, it too, had a strawberry hue to it. We were not certain what to expect, so a strawberry color fits just as well as any other color. The flavor was strong and syrupy. We could not taste the alcohol, which is probably a big part of the appeal with these types of drinks. We did like the fact that the full flavor did not last too long in our mouths. The amount of carbonation actually started out bold, but seemed to weaken the longer it was in the glass.
The packaging is basic in its approach. The words "Alcoholic Beverage" appear in small letters in a ring at the top of the can. We were also not sure what the ingredient wormwood oil is or is supposed to do...if anyone knows, let us know. The fact that the beverage offered 6% alcohol by volume was in large print, apparently in an attempt to alert consumers that this indeed was a beverage that contained alcohol.
