We've seen this story played out before-an energy drink that looks and tastes like so many other energy drinks on the market today. Unfortunately, Hype MFP is one of these drinks. One element that had us scratching our heads was "What does MFP stand for?"
Hype MFP packaging is obviously trying to appeal to the young, male consumer with its silver and black graphics. Hype MFP did not go out on a limb with any part of its package; it played it safe which is not the way to attract new consumers to try your brand versus their list of favorites. By the way, MFP is never explained anywhere on the can.
The beverage did give us a big boost of energy, its most redeeming quality. However, that's what you purchase energy drinks for, right?
The drink provides a strong citrus aroma which is pleasant. The flavor is undifferentiated from the many energy drinks on the market today...slightly tart, a little sweet with a combined lemon/lime/grapefruit profile and a tinge of medicine taste.
Hype MFP would probably mix well with clear spirits. Hopefully, the spirit mixer will mask the taste of this energy drink.
