XAPP Protein Energy with Caffeine

Xapp Protein Energy Drink
Cost: 31.99 (12 Pack)
Active Ingredients: Xapp Protein Energy with Caffeine contains 1 (16 fl.oz.) serving, which contains mg/% USRDA (whichever is available, or both, if listed) of the following: Calories 100, Cholesterol 5mg/2%, Sodium 40mg/2%, Potassium 140mg/4%, Carbohydrates 1g/1%, Sugars 1g, Protein 25g/50%, Calcium 6%, Magnesium 2%. Xapp Protein Energy also contains an undisclosed amount of caffeine.
Rating: 6.5 out of 10

Photobucket

We think of protein as a chalky well, hard to swallow taste. Xapp is the best new drink with a refreshing taste that we can barley say taste like protein! It's also meant to boost up energy for a more enjoyable pre- workout energy drink. Xapp is formulated to two types of cans that are combined to work together. These two drinks work together to formulate the nutrients you need to help replenish tired and growing muscles. Xapp energy is a carbonated drink that has a nice fruit punch flavor. Two negatives, it can leave your mouth a little dry (probably from the whey protein) and this product is only available online in bulk.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for some pre-workout energy before you hit the gym, Xapp can be your GO to drink just for that!

Your Mom Energy

From a Guest Reviewer - Matt

I just got Your Mom Energy and gave it a try.

Name: 10/10
Taste: 8/10
Price: 6/10
Overall: 8/10

Photobucket

Overall, the taste was on par with other energy drinks. It had a unique taste, but if compared to any drink on the market, I would have to say it goes with Red Bull.

The price was a little steep considering it was $3 per can + the price of shipping. However, I did break down and buy it because I thought the name was great and I could add it to my collection.

However, I don't expect the drink to be a blow-out hit unless the price comes down and it is available everywhere. I wasn't able to find any stores that had it in my area and after contacting the company it seems that they are working with a few companies right now, but they wouldn't disclose any names.

Overall, I would be a repeat buyer (again..only if the drink becomes available in more places). The taste was unique enough for me to choose it over other brands.

Energy Drink Reviewers Wanted

Like energy drinks? Our goal here is to have update to date reviews for all current drinks. We are seeking a few enthusiastic energy drink reviewers. Contact us now!
Everyone has a different idea of what is good, and what is not. Our goal is to have new reviews every week.

There are many energy drinks out there on the market. There is no reason to waste money buying bad ones, or to buy the most expensive on when there are better deals out there.
If you love energy drinks you can become an energy drink reviewer or even the master energy drink reviewer.

Although all the various energy drink brands are similar, there are obviously some differences. All energy drinks must contain something that results in an energy boost, but there are various ways to achieve this effect. All of the energy drink brands experiment with their own unique mixtures of ingredients, adding higher concentrations of some and lower concentrations of others. Most energy drinks are carbonated drinks that contain caffeine and sugar with additional ingredients such as B vitamins, amino acids and herbal stimulants. Taurine is an amino acid found in the heart muscle, white blood cells, skeletal muscle, and central nervous system. It is a building block of all the other amino acids as well as a key component of bile, which is for the digestion of fats, the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and the control of serum cholesterol levels.

Ex Chill Relaxing Drink

Ex Chill Relaxing Drink
Cost: $2 8.4 oz
Active ingredients: Chamomile, Valerian, Lemon Balm, Ginseng, B3, B5, B6
Rating: 5.8 out of 10
Calories: 76

What is this Chill drink? Well it actually looks like a reverse or anti energy drink. Seriously, it is supposed to calm you down and help you fall asleep. Freaking crazy, but I guess it seems natural all these people getting to pumped up and having insomnia, I mean watch TV and see how many ads for sleeping pills and Tylenol PM come on. So why not compete with natural herb drinks that help you sleep. There is already a sleepy time tea out that is supposed to calm and relax, how does this chill drink do? Pretty well, I felt pretty relaxed and chilled out, it even has a warning on the can:

"Warning: Can cause drowsiness, if effected, do not drive or operate machinery"

Sweet I have always been a fan of sleepy time tea and always wished it would be a little stronger, perhaps I have just found my drink, keep it around for when ever I am just to revved up and have a can 30 minutes before bedtime or so. It tastes like a lightly citrus tea I am actually having a hard time pinning the flavor down, but I do enjoy it. The flavor is very light and mostly comes of as lightly flavored carbonated water. If you have always wanted a way to just chill out when you wanted to, I suggest you give Ex Chill a try and see how it effects you.

Essn Sparkling blood orange and cranberry

Essn Sparkling blood orange and cranberry
Rating: 7.6
Sugar: 34g
Calories: 160

I have reviewed Essn Energy Drink which I liked pretty well, but I really like their non energy drink beverages. Seriously Essn sparkling juices are pretty amazing. Normally I don't like any cranberry drink, do a search of cranberry then look at the scores I give these drinks, pretty low. This blood orange cranberry mix is pretty amazing. Seriously I think I am in love with these Essn drinks, my girlfriend was the first to get me on these beverages, besides just being refreshing and delicious everyone one of them is a pretty amazing mixer, particularly this drink, serve chilled with some vodka and you will just have a big smile on your face as you taste the first sip. The fruit flavors are just solid, crisp, and clean nothing not to like. So yeah back to my statement you need to give some of these a shot, even if they aren't energy drinks they are damn good beverages.

If you like fruit juices and you like lightly carbonated drinks, their is simple no way that you wont enjoy one of the essn flavors. I will quickly get the reviews up for all the other flavors soon, so you can figure out which one you would like to try, and trust me you should try one of them.

SoBe Life Water Blackberry Grape

SoBe Life Water Blackberry Grape
Rating: 6.55
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

Photobucket

If you always like light grape juice, grape punch, grape kool aide, well then you will like this drink, because it is a strong grape flavor and kind of waterish. So I am going to describe it as if you took the three flavors I described above and mixed them all together you would get this SoBe Life Water Blackberry Grape. The grape flavor slightly overpowers the blackberry but you can taste a hint of that flavor in there as well. I do like this flavor and I always liked grape punch, so there you go another day another flavored water reviewed. Actually yesterday I reviewed 3 of them crazy huh?

I have said it before and I will say it again, I just don't really like Pomegranate, I know it is hot right now. I know it is being put in everything from martinis to energy drinks, but I just am not a fan. So yeah gag me with a spoon, anyways that is why this drink gets a low rating, but lets be honest a lot of people like pomegranate, and if you one of them I would recommend this flavor of life water, because well my guess is that you would like it also.

Glaceau VitaminWater Rescue Green Tea

Glaceau VitaminWater Rescue Green Tea
Rating: 5
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

This is a pretty simple and light green tea. I think there are better green teas on the market. This still has a pretty good flavor and is decently refreshing. Surprisingly it doesn't taste near as sweet as any of other vitamin waters, I guess the bitterness of the tea washes out some of the sugars sweetness, having another vitamin water later after finishing this tea, just seemed incredibly sweet, even though there was the same amount of sugar. All the vitamin waters seem to have the same 13 grams, but it can really vary a lot depending on the mix of flavors they put in the water.

Glaceau VitaminWater Endurance peach-mango

Glaceau VitaminWater Endurance peach-mango

This tied my lowest score for a vitamin water, with cranberry. I just didn't like the peach combo, I guess I kept feeling like I am tasting just the fuzz part of the peach. So yeah I wasn't really a fan, the peach far overpowers then mango flavor, if you happen to really like peaches or peach juice (not that there is any in the drink), you might really like this vitamin water, but I am going to have to pass on this flavor in the future, it just wasn't really for me.

I have reviewed Essn Energy Drink which I liked pretty well, but I really like their non energy drink beverages. Seriously Essn sparkling juices are pretty amazing. I love apple juice so I am obviously a huge fan of this flavor, delicious just like it sounds. I know many people have had sparkling cider when they were little before they could drink, but no reason to stop drinking that great taste, so here is a nice return to some high class sparkling juices. Some with unique flavor combinations. Essn also makes a fabulous mixer, I highly recommend trying that out as well if you are of age.

If you like fruit juices and you like lightly carbonated drinks, their is simple no way that you wont enjoy one of the essn flavors. I will quickly get the reviews up for all the other flavors soon, so you can figure out which one you would like to try, and trust me you should try one of them.

Alright this is orange tangerine life water. It tastes pretty much like orange Gatorade but slightly fruitier. So if you like orange Gatorade you would like SoBe orange tangerine life water. It is OK but I enjoy some of the other more unique flavors better. So yeah that is my two cents on this drink. It was refreshing and nice to have a cold glass of these after getting out of a hot car with no AC.

SoBe Lean Diet Green Tea

SoBe Lean Diet Green Tea
Cost: Approx $2.00, 20 oz
Active ingredients: C, Chromium, Citrimax, Carnitine
Calories: 0
Rating: 7.0 out of 10

I'm a pretty big fan of green tea. Drinking any tea makes me feel scholarly, enlightened and refined, but I don't like most teas, so I've mostly just stuck with the green variety.. I've mostly tried the Arizona brand (or occasionally, a iced drink flavored like green tea). But all those drinks are pretty high in sugars, so I wasn't honestly expecting much from a diet green tea with no calories.

But this SoBe drink definitely impressed me. The taste is very close to non-diet green tea, very light and refreshing. Most drinks I try are a bit too sweet to be refreshing to me after a workout, but I happily chugged down this one after a rousing game of basketball.

If you like green tea and are looking to cut calories without cutting much flavor, check out this drink.

SoBe Life Water Strawberry Kiwi

SoBe Life Water Strawberry Kiwi
Rating: 7
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

Wow I didn't realize how are SoBe and VitaminWater are fighting it out. Seriously some of the same flavors, same calories, same sugar, and mostly the same vitamins. I knew they were competition between similar products, but I had no idea they were this close. So really I like this and the VitaminWater equally in taste at least in this flavor, the strawberry overpowers the weaker kiwi flavor, which is prefect for me as I love strawberries. So I still wish the overall package had less calories, if I am drinking "water" I feel like I shouldn't be adding over 100 calories into my daily intake, but I guess they are avoiding the fake diet sugars and going for the good stuff. If your looking for some non carbonated drinks to have while working out and are bored of straight water or boring Gatorade, well this might work out great for you. This might be my favorite flavor.

Glaceau vitaminwater Balance cran-grapefruit

VitaminWater Balance cran-grapefruit
Rating: 5
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

Yeah this will probably be one of my lowest reviews for a vitamin water. The issue is that I don't really like cranberries nor do I like grapefruit, so when you combine them together I just have images of how much I hate ocean spray for ruining so many fruit juices by mixing them with cranberries. Who wants cran-apple, that is gross. My thoughts of grapefruit are that a very large orange has gone incredibly bad. So yeah if you like either of those fruits in their juice forms you might like this flavor, hey it might be perfect for you. I just don't like the taste, I don't like the smell. I think you taste more of the grapefruit than the cran, so if you are iffy on cranberry, but you like grapefruit this might be the water flavor for you.

VitaminWater Power-C Dragonfruit

VitaminWater Power-C Dragonfruit
Rating: 7
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

My basic thoughts on VitaminWater is that is is Gatorade, but with a little bit more vitamins that your body needs. This flavor is also pretty tasty a nice dragonfruit taste which to me tastes a little bit like a light citrus with a strawberry kiwi blended in on top of it. I have no idea if that is a good description of dragon fruit but I am going to go with it. Anyways there are a ton of vitamin water flavors to choice from if you like the vitamin energy dragon fruit flavor you would likely enjoy this water flavor as well. But enough with this water crap I am off to go review an energy drink. I will say vitamin water is a good thing to drink to rehydrate after a night of drinking, good for the hang over, probably would be even better if I drank it at the end of a night before bed.

VitaminWater Focus Kiwi-Strawberry

VitaminWater Focus Kiwi-Strawberry
Rating: 7
Sugar: 13g
Calories: 50 x2.5

My basic thoughts on VitaminWater is that is is Gatorade, but with a little bit more vitamins that your body needs. I wouldn't consider it super healthy and drinking a full bottle does give you about 125 calories mostly from sugar so I wouldn't call it a diet drink. This kiwi strawberry flavor is one of my favorite flavors though, as I love strawberries. So if your looking for something to take hiking or playing basketball or to down while on a run vitamin water is a good choice as you will actually want some of the sugars and calories while burning through them and the drink will keep you hydrated, if your looking for something to drink because your bored of water it isn't a bad choice either, but you can find tasty drinks with less calories. I do love this flavor so it gets a good rating from me as something to pick up once in awhile to keep some variety in your beverage consumption.

Kirkland Orange Soda

Kirkland Grape soda
Rating: 6.5
Sugar: 48g
Calories: 190

Kirkland has a nice-tasting generic orange soda. Pretty much what you would expect from an orange soda, but at a discount price. There is a lot of sugar in this soda, and, as the label say, "no fruit juice" whatsoever. There also isn't any caffeine, so this won't give you a burst of energy or anything. If you're looking for a good orange soda and want to save some cash, head to CostCo and pick this drink up.

Kirkland Grape soda

Kirkland Grape soda
Rating: 2.2
Sugar: 50g
Calories: 200

This drink sucks, and it is insanely bad for you. Seriously I love the Kirkland Orange soda which I will review soon, but this drink has 50 freaking grams of sugar in it. 50g bringing 200 calories for 1 stupid can of soda, 10% of the normal total calorie intake. Crazy, why does it need so much sugar, well it is because they went with the same grape flavor that dymatap cough syrup, it doesn't taste like that by the time you drink it. Basically because it is full of so much sugar that all you taste is sugar and some sort of purple flavor, I won't call it grape because if you have ever had grape juice you know this isn't even a distant cousin of it. So yeah seriously unless you want to be a diabetic I just can't recommend this crappy soda to anyone. Still with the Orange and Lemon Lime from Kirkland, which also have to much sugar, but a little less and they actually taste good.

Fruta Vida Rainforest Superfood

Fruita Vida Rainforest Superfood
Cost: ?? 1.5 oz
Active ingredients: Caffeine, Yerba Mate
Calories: 15
Rating: 5.5 out of 10

Another super fruit concoction that is supposed to give you a whole ton of energy. So how does the Fruta Vida drink work for me? Um not super great as an energy drink, but as a health supplement it would do better. I actually ended up reviewing this in my drinks section because I just didn't feel it fit in as an energy drink. It doesn't really get me pumped up, but I am sure if I was looking for my fill of anti oxidants or whatever I would be happy. Sometimes I don't really know why I get sent some things to sample, this is one of those not really and energy drink, energy drinks. So if you like the taste of berry skin with no berry fruit in side you will likely like the taste of this drink, with its slightly bitter not very flavorful taste. That isn't to say it tastes bad it is just a pretty weak fruit flavor with more bitter taste than fruit taste. It does have much of a sweetness anywhere in the drink, which I guess I still associate with fruit. Anyways this has the Acai berry which many have been raving about recently and seems to have been springing up in various energy drinks lately. So awesome for acai, you have made it to the big show, the US health food market, best of luck. It does have Yerba Mate so whatever energy you get from the drink should stick around for a little while, but expect it to be a very small lift. It is from Brazil and I love Brazil so I have to give it some credit for being extra exotic and such, I can barely get the through of Brazilian swimsuit models out of my mind to finish the review. In fact I am just going to quite and fantasize for awhile because I think this is a good enough review for a fruit drink that isn't and energy drink.

True blue blueberry juice

rating 7 out of 10

This a a blueberry juice drink. I know I had never really heard of blueberry juice before either. I was a little scared of this mystery juice. I thought the blueberry fruit might be to strong and over powering. I know blueberries are supposed to be good for you and such, but in juice? Well turns out it is pretty delicious. I liked it a lot. It was a bit to sweet for me, so I found myself mixing 80% juice with 20% water, but that just means the delicious juice lasts longer. Not a bad thing. I have been playing some basketball every day lately trying to get in better shape, and I found that a nice glass of true blue over ice was a great thing after a game of basketball. So if you like purple grape juice you know the basic taste and flavor, just through a hint of the blueberry taste over the top of grape juice and BAM you have true blue. I am not exactly sure where you can find this drink, but check the comments I am sure someone knows. I have always been a big fan of juice, normally preferring it over sodas when I was a kid. Still tend to like it better as an adult. Perhaps that is why I have been such a big fan of the energy drink juices, like rumba and Monster Khaos. So while this is a little different than the juices you might have already tried, I highly recommend giving blueberry in the juice form a try.
