Election 2004 is here and frankly I'm scared. Scared of what will become of our country, our futures, our planet. People say I shouldnt be afraid and that I should just go and vote for the "best" candidate. Ok first of all, does anyone still think their vote actually counts after what happened in the last election? And even if all the votes get counted honestly is either one of these candidates going to keep their word? They are politicians for christ's sake.
At this point its not a question of who I will vote for but if I'll vote at all. So go ahead comment if you must. Type away angrily telling me its my American right, duty, responsibility...to vote.
Posted by nicole at October 8, 2004 04:41 AMi dont plan on voting either, not that i dont think bush is a fuck, its just supporting american capitolism either way so i choose to not vote.

Posted by: vegas at October 8, 2004 05:45 AMi honestly think that voting is irrational, i will do it anyway but it makes no sense.
Posted by: dom^2 at October 8, 2004 05:30 PMI'm going to vote... Why? Because I've never been able to vote before and I really don't want Bush to serve another term. Personally I'd like to vote for Nader but people say that's just throwing your vote away. Maybe I'm idealistic to think that my vote counts. With the electoral college in place no ones vote really counts but i'm going to vote anyway.
Posted by: -dominic at October 8, 2004 07:18 PMI can't decide weither I am going to vote or not. I am registered, but I just don't feel that I know enough about what either canidate stands for to make that kind of choice. Politicians never spell out what they are for or against, all they say is "it part of our plan" what the hell does that mean.
Posted by: piny at October 9, 2004 01:58 AMi don't plan on voting either. for me, it's like trying to deceifer which is the bigger idiot. i found a website that showed the candidates' stances on major issue such as abortion, education, etc. but can't remember the site. in any event, i've always considered myself a republican, but have found that my views coinside more with kerry's. my biggest beef though, is that, while a candidate may hold a certain stance, they seem to have very little hope of putting that legislation thru. both candidates have some good ideas, but no real plan of action (or far-fetched) as to how to accomplish said task. cheers to not voting. go buffs!
Posted by: dave at October 11, 2004 05:27 AMthere is a good chance that i enjoy politics a little too much.
The candidates are so similar this year it is ridiculous. They both went to yale were both on the yale debate team, in the same secret society, there stance on issues is very similar.
Kerry sticks out with me because he sees the humanistic side to his decisions. While he does not personally agree with abortion he does not feel that right should be taken away from someone else. While he does agree that we need to protect ourselves from major threats he felt bush went about it the entirely wrong way, and has created a ginormous mess.
Kerry's daughter was on campus yesterday and she was helping to explain his stances and views and breaking down plans, dom your vote does count kind of so use it, and nicole you should vote as well.
