In the short time he spent with us, Richard Cates made his way into the hearts of everyone around him. I was lucky enough to be one of those people. In the short time we knew eachother we quickly became the best of friends. We went everywhere together and on the rare occasion he wasn't with me I was sure to get a million and one questions why. Even the teachers at school would ask me where he was if he wasnt at my side.
I remember (and love) everyone of his little idiosyncrasies. Like how he hated giving his stuff to people. I still have the hoody he gave me only after I begged him for it, arguing that it was too small for him, after 2 weeks he did finally concede. He also screamed like a girl when he got really excited. And he's probably getting really annoyed with me putting all of this out there.
The last thing he ever said to me was that he knew we'd never see eachother again. I, of course argued that we would. We were best friends of course we'd see eachother again. Sadly, that was the last moment I ever had with him.
Richard Jordan Cates,
I promise I will never forget you, no matter how much it hurts to remember.
I love you so much Nicole! I'm here for you. I miss you terribly right now. Can't wait to be in your arms again.
