La Familia
So much happened over our little 3 day weekend I'm not sure where to start...well we drove friday night to Roswell. Spent Saturday "sight seeing". We took Dominic to the Bottomless lakes which i hadnt seen in 5 years. Then we spent the rest of the day with my family, which grows exponentially every year. Dominic only got to see part of my mom's family and i think he was shocked to see how many members there are. Four generations were present the oldest at 75 the youngest just turned 1 year. I didnt take a head count but there were alot of people there and alot of people missing.
It was both heart warming and heart breaking to be there. It's hard to be the furthest away. While I'm living the life i want to I'm really missing out on alot. The hardest part has been being so far from my grandparents. Their time here is growing shorter and this weekend that reality hit me hard. I found myself a little envious of my cousins who live close by and still see my grandparents regularly. Whats more is they all have kids who get to spend time with my grandparents, something I doubt my children will ever get to experience.
Time with the family was well overdue and I hope that Dominic and I can make a tradition of visiting them at least yearly.
