Dear Mother Nature,

The deal is off. You remember? That one where you were all making promises to make life beautiful again and I was going to praise your gloriousness. Yeah, well your little stunt today, the eight inches of snow and 20 degree weather has once again made me lose trust in you.

I know you, like all women, have the right to change your mind at any time but this is bullshit. You're losing credibility and I'm starting to think you should be taking heavy doses of lithium. Hot one day cold the next? This could be a serious sign of a little psychological condition called Bi-Polar disorder.

Maybe you're just doing it on purpose because you're afraid to let anyone get too close to you. You wouldnt want anyone to think you're a softy, Right? Well, you've gone too far. The December blizzards and January frost were enough but you crossed the line today. And did you even stop to think about all the little kids that are supposed to be enjoying their SPRING break? You're a cold hearted bitch.

Losing Faith in You,
Nicole

PS please dont strike me with lightning.

Horror Stories of the Four Legged Variety

After posting yesterday about Oni's chewing gum incident I was relieved to discover that he actually isnt the world's worst dog. Thanks to the horror story of a recently engaged pug owner, Oni has escaped the wok once again.

I'll admit that Oni once chewed up something pretty valuable but this little pug has seriously refined taste. They say pets are like their owners, or something like that, so it comes as no surprise that the girl who said, "i'd rather have the perfect diamond ring, than spend all that money on a wedding" got her "perfect diamond ring" swallowed by her dog.

I guess its not really all that bad, I mean, she will get her ring back...eventually. Plus its a hilarious story. I bet they're digging through poo right now.

Pets are funny.

Laryngitis

Only I would get a disease from talking too much. (ok, so laryngitis isnt a disease but it is torture.) Three days ago I woke up with a sore throat that eventually left me paralyzed (ok, not paralyzed but voiceless). It has been torture ever since. The cause of this little condition is either a virus or using your voice too much. Since I dont have a fever or anything it was likely caused by the latter. And I know you wouldnt know it from my sparse blog posts but I actually have a lot to say and I pretty much talk CONSTANTLY. Some of my incessant talking has been quelled at my husband's request but I still talk A LOT.

The only thing I can do to get my voice back is to not use it. I've been trying hard not to talk but its almost more painful to keep my thoughts inside than to use my damaged larynx.

Man's best friend doubles as world's most effective birth control

It's no secret that our little Oni is a handful; from pneumonia, to giardia,The Weed Incident, the daily vomiting, weekly diarrhea...and now the latest Gum Incident.

Somehow, right under my nose, Oni managed to get into some chewing gum today but he didnt just CHEW the gum because that would have been the right thing to do. He somehow managed to get it ALL OVER himself!

I know that peanut butter is the best way to get gum out of hair and I assume it would work in Oni-fur but we have no pb since ours was thrown out during last month's salmonella outbreak. I think Goop Off might work but I'm afraid it's toxic. Pulling it out with my fingers proved to be impossible and it seems the sun bathing (which is what he's doing right now) is making the situation worse.

Any suggestions, before I shave my dog or donate him to the local Chinese restaurant?

Creepy

Last night while sleeping comfortably, for the first time since the recent flu epidemic swept through our house, we were rudely awakened. Not too many things wake my husband up in the middle of the night; pretty much nothing short of a midnight promise of sex will wake that man. So last night when he sat up in bed and said, "Nicole!" in that urgent whispered tone that initiates your body's fight or flight mechanism I nearly peed my pants before I even knew what was going on. Finally to my senses I begin to understand why we're awake with pounding hearts.

"Um, Nicole, did we fall asleep with the lights on?"

"No, we didnt, we couldnt have. What the hell?"

We have two very bright ceiling lights in our bedroom that Dominic insists be turned off before he even thinks about laying down in bed and if they're ever on while he's laying in bed he writhes in pain like acid is eating out his eyeballs and begs: "can you pleeease turn them off". So i know that there is no way, no how, that we fell asleep with the lights on. But at 11 o'clock last night about 2 hours after we went to bed those lights were indeed on.
(cue twilight zone music...dododododo...)

yeah, it was creepy.

Crazy Trapezoids

I've spent the last week racking my brain to write a math paper about geometric shapes. Last night I burned the candle at both ends to get it done. When I finally made it to bed i couldnt get all those shapes and equations out of my head. It was like one of those tetris episodes; yeah, you know what i'm talking about, when you play tetris for too long and then you close your eyes all you see are tetris shapes. And as if that werent bad enough, when i finally did get to sleep i had nightmares about it.

I had this dream that Dominic and I were building our house and I could see all these shapes. He kept talking Architect jargin and it was making me mad because he wouldnt admit that they were shapes. Then we ran into a problem when we were buiding and I was all, "see i told you it was a trapezoid".

Trapezoids.

Gmail Problems

Anyone else having trouble with gmail today? Not being able to access my email is like not having a cell phone, which lets face it, is pretty much like having your arms cut off.
